The Wolf, 2008

Klemens and his newphew Nejla are Sami. They run a small herd of reindeer in the wild, majestic landscape on the border between Norway and Sweden. Klemens is a loner, struggling to maintain a traditional way of life and Nejla’s ambition is to be able to live like his uncle. But his mother and pressures of modern society work against it.

Their fragile world is shaken when the herd is attacked. In desperation they take the law into their own hands. A well aimed stroke of the axe puts relationships to the test. What are the consequences and who will take the blame?

Based on an original script by the best-selling novelist Kerstin Ekman, directed by Daniel Alfredson and with Peter Stormare in the lead role.
